Booking a job
How is my price calculated?
Tackle reads your description and photos, matches the job to a service, and suggests a price inside limits set for that service. You see the full breakdown before confirming.
When am I charged?
Only after your pro marks the job complete. If the job turns out bigger than described, the pro must ask you to approve a new price first.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancelling is free until your pro is on the way.
How are pros vetted?
Every pro verifies their ID, and background checks are completed through our screening partner before they can accept jobs.
What if something gets damaged? Who pays?
Pros on Tackle are independent contractors, not Tackle employees, so the pro who did the job is responsible for paying for any damage they cause. Report it from the job screen within 72 hours and upload photos of the damage. We ask the pro for their side and their completion photos, and our team contacts you both within one business day to help reach a resolution.
What kinds of jobs can I request?
Lighting and bulbs, smoke and CO detectors, window AC install and removal, lawn care and planter maintenance, small repairs, home maintenance and household help. If your job doesn’t fit, choose “Something else” and describe it.
Where is Tackle available?

Working with Tackle Pro
What does membership cost?
One flat monthly fee: Pro Monthly is $19 per month, cancel anytime. The founding member offer is $15 per month for the first 3 months, then $19, and is limited to the first 200 New York City pros. There is no commission on jobs and no per-lead charge.
How do customers pay?
Customers are charged after you mark the job complete. You keep 100% of the job price.
What do I need to apply?
A government ID (front and back), a selfie we match to your ID, and consent to a background check. Liability insurance is optional and adds an “Insured” badge to your profile. Review usually takes 1–2 business days.
How do I get more jobs?
Add more services, widen your service area, and stay online during busy hours such as weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
What if a job is bigger than described?
Open the job menu and request a price change. The customer must approve it before you continue.
Who pays if something gets damaged on a job?
You do. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for any damage you cause while doing a job. If a customer reports damage, they upload photos within 72 hours. We ask for your side and your completion photos before our team reviews it. We strongly recommend carrying liability insurance. Uploading it adds an Insured badge to your profile.
How do I cancel my membership?
In the Pro app go to Profile, then Membership, then Cancel membership. You keep access until the end of the billing period.
